Phil Salt and Tim David joined hands to complete a fine relay catch during the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday (April 7).

It was the second ball of the 20th over when Deepak Chahar was facing Krunal Pandya. Chasing 222 runs, Mumbai Indians needed 19 runs from the final over. On the very first ball of the over, Krunal dismissed Mitchell Santner.

Santner's dismissal brought Chahar in the middle. With 19 runs needed from just 5 balls, the Mumbai Indians pacer decided to go for the big shot. A six at that stage would have put Krunal and RCB under immense pressure.

Well, Chahar nearly managed to hit the ball for a six but Phil Salt and Tim David foiled his plans with a stunning catch. Krunal decided to outfox Chahar with a bouncer but the latter managed to connect well with the ball.

He hit the ball towards deep mid-wicket and the ball looked destined to sail over the boundary. However, Phil Salt had other plans. The RCB opener came charging in and took the catch over his head while being airborne before realizing that the momentum was taking him over the boundary ropes. He quickly tossed the ball inside the field where Tim David caught the ball to complete a stunning catch.

Talking about the match, RCB beat Mumbai Indians by 12 runs to return to winning ways. Mumbai Indians eventually finished their innings on 209/9. They needed 28 runs off the last two overs with a well-set Hardik Pandya at the crease.

However, Josh Hazlewood dismissed the Mumbai Indians skipper on the very first ball of the 19th over to put his team in the driver's seat. Even though Santner hit him for a six on the final ball of the over, he conceded only 9 runs.

Krunal had to defend 18 runs in the final over and he did a fine job. The RCB allrounder gave away just six runs and picked up three wickets as well to power his team to a comfortable win in the end.

Earlier in the match, fifties from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar helped RCB post a big total of 221/5 in the allotted 2o 0vers. Kohli scored 67 runs while Patidar scored 64 runs. Jitesh Sharma also played a crucial knock of 40 runs from just 19 balls.
