Prince Yadav struck again in his following over of his spell. For the scalp, he targeted the England captain Harry Brook, who played a brilliant knock in the previous match. Brook was lethal against the Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh in Manchester.
England captain Harry Brook also lost his scalp against Prince Yadav
Tonight, Harry Brook's innings did not last long because of Prince. The emerging spinner took the dangerous batter's wicket at the moment when Brook was looking to accelerate the run rate of his team. To catch the experienced batter's disposition, the young fast bowler used the deck very well.
For the second ball of the night over of the innings, Yadav hit the short of the length hard to produce extra bounce. The ball was on the middle of stumps, which forced Harry Brook to swing his bat.
He swung the bat across the line of the ball in search of a boundary. It was a halfhearted shot, neither a pull shot nor a sweep; the ball went high in the air and landed on the palms of Abhishek Sharma, who was standing at the deep mid-wicket region.
Harshit Rana was also on song tonight against England
The inclusion of the fast bowler proved to be on point as he brought instant effectiveness with the ball. Harshit Rana, another seamer in tonight's line-up, also looked in rhythm. Rana took two wickets in two consecutive balls, and was on the verge of claiming a hat-trick.
England started the innings well with their openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler. While Buttler was dismissed for 36 runs from 21 balls, Salt remained firm on the track to complete a controlled half-century. The England opener smashed 70 runs from only 44 balls, with seven 4s and three 6s.
It will be interesting to see how much England could score after all the exciting events in the middle of the park.
