Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Rahul Tewatia enjoyed a breakthrough season in IPL 2020 as he used his all-round skills to great effect to win matches for his side. Rahul Tewatia emerged as the silver lining in an otherwise grim season for the Rajasthan Royals, who finished on the bottom of the points table. The spin-bowling all-rounder was seen warming up in the nets ahead of IPL 2021 by dishing out some lusty blows.

Rahul Tewatia completed his mandatory isolation period as the Rajasthan Royals have resided at the CCI in Mumbai. The nets session of the Royals witnessed the 27-year old hitting the ground running and playing some impressive strokes by dancing down the deck. Tewatia also tried his hand at the switch hit, which he used to significant effect in IPL 2020, while there also existed some pull shots, slog sweeps, and one over the extra cover region.

Rahul Tewatia grabbed headlines in IPL 2020 when he smashed Kings XI Punjab seamer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over. Even though the Haryana-born cricketer started slowly in that game, that one over turned the game into its head. The southpaw scored 54 in that fixture hosted by Sharjah as Rajasthan Royals chased 224 to pull off the highest successful run-chase in IPL history.

The edition finished with Tewatia scoring 255 runs in 14 games at 42.50, keeping a strike rate of 139.34. He also picked up ten wickets via his leg-spin and pulled off some outstanding catches too. Rajasthan Royals would likely be without their ace paceman Jofra Archer for the first four matches and will bank on the likes of Chris Morris and Mustafizur Rahman to fill that gap. The Sanju Samson-led side will open their campaign against Kings XI Punjab on the 12th of April at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
