Following the Rajasthan Royals' (RR) fifth consecutive defeat in the IPL 2025 season, off-field drama caught fans’ attention. Rajasthan Royals' CEO Jake Lush McCrum is walking toward a liquor store in Bengaluru shortly after an 11-run loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 24.
Rajasthan Royals suffered yet another heartbreaking loss in the run chase. They finished at 194/9 while chasing a target of 206 runs. It was their fifth straight loss of the season, equaling their worst losing streak in IPL history. With just two wins from nine games, the team is in eighth place on the points table.

In a viral video, Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum was seen walking near the upscale Tonique liquor store in central Bengaluru after the team’s narrow loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The video was recorded by an RCB fan, who said that McCrum was looking to cope with the disappointing loss.

Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal Dominate RR Bowlers in the Middle Overs
Sent into bat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a flying start in their match, with Virat Kohli and Phil Salt adding 61 runs in just 6.4 overs. Salt was dismissed for 26 by Wanindu Hasaranga. Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal went on to add 95 for the second wicket.
Kohli scored 70 runs off 42 balls, including eight fours and two sixes. The former RCB skipper moved into second place in the Orange Cap race with 392 runs from nine matches, just behind Gujarat Titans' (GT) Sai Sudharsan.
Padikkal scored 50 runs off 27 balls, with four fours and three sixes. He was dismissed shortly after reaching his fifty. Tim David (23 off 15) and Jitesh Sharma's (20* off 10) late cameos helped RCB post a competitive total in the match.
Josh Hazlewood Named Player of the Match for Bowling Performance
In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 off 19) hit the first ball of the match for a six. He and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16 off 12) added 52 runs in just 4.2 overs. However, the partnership ended when Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Suryavanshi.
Nitesh Rana (28) and Riyan Parag (22) failed to convert their starts into big scores. Shimron Hetmyer (11) was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood at a crucial stage. However, Dhruv Jurel (47 off 34) kept RR in the game. Jurel and Shubham Dubey managed to gather 22 runs off the 18th over from Bhuvneshwar.
With 18 runs needed from 12 balls, Hazlewood bowled an outstanding over. The Australian pacer took the wickets of Jurel and Jofra Archer (0) off consecutive deliveries, conceding just one run. Hazlewood (4-33) was named Player of the Match for his bowling performance.
