Nathan Lyon removes Dinesh Chandimal for 72 runs in the first innings

Lyon also achieved a unique feat during the match. The Australia National Cricket Team spinner removed Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batter Dinesh Chandimal twice in the same session on the ongoing Day 4 of the match, which speaks about the dominance of Australia.

In the first innings, Lyon trapped Dinesh Chandimal in the lbw. The off-spinner floated up a delivery that was full-on off-stump. The Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batter brought the wrong-footed reverse sweep, which led to his downfall in the innings.

The ball from Nathan Lyon was bit into the surface and turned sharply before going under the blade. The ball hit on the back leg, and the umpire, Adrian Holdstock, gave it out straight away. Chandimal played a valiant innings of 72 runs off 139 balls.

After he got out, the Australia National Cricket Team wrapped up the Sri Lanka innings quickly. He bundled them out for 165 runs and then enforced the follow-on the opposition. In the second innings too, Lyon had better off Dinesh Chandimal.

Lyon bowled a slow ball and got some bounce on off-break. Dinesh Chandimal lunged forward in defense and missed by a long way as the ball caught the edge of the glove on its way to his thigh-pad and then lobbed up for a simple catch to Travis Head.

Australia National Cricket Team immediately opted for a DRS, and there appeared a big spike on UltraEdge when the ball was next to the glove. Dinesh Chandimal had to take the long walk back to the pavilion as he was removed by Nathan Lyon for the second time in the session.

Dinesh Chandimal, in the second innings, ended with a score of 31 runs off 49 balls. He also slammed three boundaries in his innings, and with his wicket, Sri Lanka National Cricket Team lost their third wicket in the second essay and were left tottering at 75/3. Australia now seems favourite to win the game as their spinners are all over the opposition batters.
