Ravi Shastri's toss blunder leaves Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill shocked
'Charismatic' Shastri, who is known for his energetic introductions at the toss, was at his best during the GT vs PBKS clash.
After introducing both the captains to the Ahmedabad crowd, Shastri demanded the toss representative to give the coin to the match referee, and after that, he accidentally said, 'Shreyas will spin the coin'.
This shocked both the skippers as Shubman Gill was the home captain and had the coin in his hands. Ravi Shastri, meanwhile, was quick to acknowledge his mistake and asked Gill to spin the coin.
Here's how everything unfolded:
Ravi Shastri - Shreyas will spin the coin.
Shreyas Iyer - I'll spin? (Gill and Iyer shocked)
Ravi Shastri - Ah, I beg your pardon, Shubman will spin the coin.

I feel that this team is looking very good, very balanced - Piyush Chawla on Punjab Kings
Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the GT vs PBKS clash, the Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla said that Punjab Kings have built a great squad for IPL 2025. He said:
"If you look at the team that has been made here, you can see a very good, balanced team on the paper. A lot will depend on how you start the tournament. And the good thing is that we have seen 2-3 matches, and we get an idea of the template.
"Although we have been to different venues, but you get an idea of how the IPL started. So, I feel that this team is looking very good, very balanced. It is a mixture of good Indian players with overseas. So, it is looking much better than the last few years."
During the same discussion, Ambati Rayudu was hopeful of the PBKS players getting consistent chances and a longer rope under new skipper Shreyas Iyer. He said:
"I think it will change (on PBKS players getting consistent chances). Because we have also seen Shreyas Iyer's captaincy. He is a consistent captain, a composed captain. And I think they don't have many options on the bench. So, you have 11-12 players who are very good.
"Prabhsimran, Inglis, Stoinis, Maxwell, Wadhera, then Shashank Singh. So, it is a set team and their bowling is very good. Jansen Arshdeep, then Chahal. So, when these players are there, if you back them for 14 matches, then each player can win 2-3 games for the team. Then they feel that they are in the team to qualify."
