Ravichandran Ashwin Impresses Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli's reaction said it all as Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Mominul Haque with a stunning delivery in the ongoing first India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

After Bangladesh lost both of their openers in quick succession, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul tried to steady the ship. They joined hands in the middle after Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Shadman Islam to reduce Bangladesh to 86 for 2.

The duo took Bangladesh's score past the 120-run mark. However, before they could bat their team to a strong position, the India spin spearhead came up with a brilliant delivery to add yet another wicket to his tally.

On the final ball of the 30th over, Ravichandran Ashwin clean-bowled Mominul to break the 38-run partnership. It was a tossed-up delivery around the off stump from the local boy and Mominul went for a front foot defense.

Mominul, however, was beaten by the last-minute turn as the ball spun away to beat the outside edge before hitting to off-stump. And as soon as the ball hit the stump, Virat Kohli's facial expression made it clear that he was mighty impressed.

Jasprit Bumrah broke the stand by dismissing Zakir for 33. Since then, Bangladesh have been losing wickets at regular intervals.

At the time of writing this report, the visitors were on 158 for 4 in the 38th over while chasing an improbable target of 515 runs. After dismissing Islam and Mominul, Ashwin dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim as well to put India firmly in the driver's seat.

Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan were batting at the time of writing this report. Shanto was batting on 51 while Shakib was on 5. Earlier in the day, India declared their second innings on 287/4. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant starred with the bat for the hosts, scoring 119 not out and 109 respectively. In the first innings, India had scored 376 runs before bowling out Bangladesh for 149 runs.
