Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was bowled by the offspinner Glenn Phillips during the first innings of the second Test between India and New Zealand at Pune. It was a big moment in the game as Pant has been India's savior in such situations before.

Bowling just his third over of the innings, Glenn Phillips came in to bowl the 31st over. In the second ball of the over, he bowled a flatter delivery on off stump that kept a little low.

Pant looked to mow the ball across the line towards midwicket but missed it completely. As a result, the ball crashed into the stumps, putting India in further trouble. Rishabh Pant was dismissed for 18 off 19 balls.

Rishabh Pant was looking good and positive with the bat but unfortunately, it wasn't his day. He struck 2 fours in this knock. Pant has been India's crisis man in Test cricket ever since his debut.

The left-hander has played some high-class and entertaining knocks during his short career so far. His ability to counter-attack when there is pressure makes him such a dangerous batter for an opposition.

The 26-year-old has bailed India out of various tough situations befofe with his counter-attacking knocks. But he was dismissed while trying to play another another aggressive shot here.

Rishabh Pant's score in the last Test

Rishabh Pant got injured in the last match as the ball hit his knee when he was wicketkeeping. He was taken off the field for some treatment and did not return to keep wickets.

However, he was ruled fit to bat in India's second innings and scored a valuable 99 off 105 balls, Both him and Sarfaraz stitched together a partnership of 177 runs for the fourth wicket to bail India out of huge trouble.

But India suffered a batting collapse in the lower order to leave New Zealand with a simple target to chase. The visitors chased down the target of 107 runs with 8 wickets to spare.

Meanwhile, India's batting order suffered a collapse in Pune as well. After losing Shubman Gill early, India lost 6 wickets for 53 runs. India were reduced to 107-7 at lunch on Day 2 with Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar at the crease.

Both the allrounders have an uphill task at their hands to revive India's chances in this match. India scored 91 runs in the session and lost 6 wickets. India will look to get close to New Zealand's first innings score of 259.

New Zealand are in the driver's seat not only in this match, but in the series as well. The Black Caps earlier won the first Test match at Bengaluru to take a 1-0 in the series. They will be aiming for a historic win here, which will be a huge upset.
