The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant and the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel were engaged in a hilarious banter at the toss on Monday, March 24.

DC and LSG are locking horns with each other in their Indian Premier League 2025 opener at the Dr. YSR Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel share a fun moment at the toss

Pant and Axar played together for the Delhi Capitals for a very long time before the star wicketkeeper-batsman exited the franchise and was roped in by the Lucknow Super Giants for a record-breaking INR 27 crore at the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction.

Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant share a great bond and their bromance was on full display when the players met on the field for the Delhi Capitals vs Lucknow Super Giants clash.

Meanwhile, a hilarious moment took place at the toss as Axar Patel, being the home skipper, flipped the coin, and Pant went for heads. The coin came down as tails and looking at this Axar, who won the toss, said they would be bowling first.

Pant was quick to interrupt Axar and hilariously said, 'Batting first?, batting first?' before both the players shared a good laugh. The presenter Murali Kartik was also amused by the interaction between the former DC teammates and said, "Axar I can see the friendliness between you two."

Both of us know a lot about each other - Axar Patel on Rishabh Pant

At the toss, Axar also spoke about the wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and said that they know a lot about each other. He stated:

"Both of us know a lot about each other. He knows some of my tricks, I know a few of his as well. I have been playing here for DC for a long time. We have a well-balanced side."

Meanwhile, the Lucknow Super Giants captain said that a lot of his emotions are attached to Delhi Capitals, but he would look to deliver for his new team.

"Definitely, a lot of emotions with DC. Everyone knows that I have played all my life with DC. Hopefully, I can contribute tonight for the new franchise."

Notably, a lot of players are making their debuts for Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing match. For Delhi Capitals, Faf du Plessis, Sameer Rizvi, Mitchell Starc, and Vipraj Nigam (IPL debut as well) are playing for the franchise for the first time.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant, Prince Yadav (IPL debut as well), Shardul Thakur, Digvesh Singh Rathi (IPL debut as well), Shahbaz Ahmed, David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Mitchell Marsh are playing for the first time for the Lucknow Super Giants.
