Watch: Rishabh Pant video calls from USA to congratulate Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana on KKR's IPL 2024 victory

India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant made sure that he congratulated his good mates Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana. This came after Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday (26th May). 

Kolkata Knight Riders won their third title in the Indian Premier League. They thumped Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the MA  Chidambaram Stadium. It was sheer dominance from the Shreyas Iyer-led side as they were sensational with the bat and ball. 

Kolkata Knight Riders were asked to field and it was a magnificent start with the ball for the team. Man of big stages Mitchell Starc, stepped up big time for the team as he removed Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi early on, and Travis Head also bagged a golden duck. 

After they were all over the batters with their sensational bowling. They bundled out Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 113 runs with Andre Russell being the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets.

With the bat, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39) played a decent hand with the bat at the top. But the real blitz came from Venkatesh Iyer, who slammed a brutal half-century and took his team home. Kolkata Knight Riders chased the target within 11 overs to win their third title. 

Kolkata Knight Riders players were elated after the win as they were seen enjoying in the ground. However, what caught the attention of many was Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh were seen having a conversation with Rishabh Pant after the game.

You can't credit just one person because everyone has worked hard - Rinku Singh 

After the win, Rinku Singh stated that it was an entire team effort from the franchise. He stated that Gautam Gambhir has changed the entire complexion of the team and credited the team for playing well. Speaking after the win, he explained: 

“You can't credit just one person because everyone has worked hard. Since GG (Gautam Gambhir) sir came, a lot of things have changed. Sending Sunil early, he batted so well.

"The batters played well, and the bowling was great. Venky (Venkatesh Iyer) has been batting well for the last five matches, so overall, everyone has done really well," he concluded. 

Rinku Singh will now be traveling to the USA and join Team India for the T20 World Cup 2024. He has been named in the team as the reserve. The T20 World Cup will begin from June 1 and India will play their first game on 5th June against Ireland.
