Rishabh Pant Helps Ravichandran Ashwin

India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has been quite chirpy behind the stumps in the ongoing second Test match against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The game between the two teams, which is also the last of the series, is taking place at Green Park in Kanpur.

India captain Rohit Sharma surprised many with his decision to bowl first, and since then, bowlers have been quite decent. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, behind the stumps, is guiding the bowlers pretty well and is also passing on the hilarious remarks.

One of the eye-catching moments came ahead of the wicket of Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Ravichandran Ashwin was not keeping the ball full and the Rishabh Pant took note of that and advised the spinner.

Rishabh Pant was heard saying, "Ash bhai idhar (aage) daalna padega halka sa thoda" (Ash, you need to keep it a tad full). The off-spinner, however, did exactly that, and it resulted in the wicket of Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Ravichandran Ashwin bowled an in-drifter that kept coming in with the round-the-wicket angle. Najmul Hossain Shanto lunged to block it but played down the wrong line as he got stuck in front of the off-stump. Although the batter took the DRS, it showed three reds, and the batter had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.

Here's the video:

Najmul Hossain Shanto looked positive at the crease as he played some good shots and looked settled at the crease. He ended with the innings of 31 runs off 57 balls and also slammed 6 boundaries, adding 51 runs partnership with Mominul Haque that brought Team back in the game.

The pick of the bowlers for India on Day 1 so far has been pacer Akash Deep. The fast bowler has bowled impeccable lines and lengths and has troubled the Bangladesh batters. He has removed both the openers and with the kind of performance he is putting in, he is making his case strong for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

The rain has stopped the play in Kanpur. At the time of writing this piece, Bangladesh were 107/3 in 35 overs. Mominul Haque was batting at 40* while Mushfiqur Rahim joined him in and was at 6.

Rishabh Pant to play important for India with bat in ongoing Test

Pant will be key for India in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh with the bat. With the Indian middle order struggling for runs, he would want to keep his good run in the Test and score runs for his team. He looked in solid touch in the last game as he slammed a sensational ton.

Rishabh Pant scored 109 runs on his return to Test cricket. He played his first game after December 2022 and made sure that he made a grand comeback. He will be extremely important for India, especially with 8 more Tests around the corner.
