Indian skipper Rohit Sharma expressed frustration over the England team’s celebration in the ongoing fourth Test match between the two teams. Rohit Sharma was disappointed with England skipper Ben Stokes’s reaction after the third umpire decision on Day 2.

England began the second day at 302/7, with Joe Root and Ollie Robinson at the crease. The visitors started the opening session on a positive note, with Robinson reached his maiden half century. However, Ravindra Jadeja broke the partnership by dismissing Robinson.

Robinson scored 58 runs off 96 deliveries, aided by nine fours and a six. Left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja further dismissed Shoaib Bashir (0) and James Anderson (0), bowling out the opposition for 353 runs. Joe Root remained unbeaten on 122 runs from 274 balls.

In response, Team India suffered an early setback as skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just two runs by James Anderson. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill steadied the innings without losing any further wickets in the first session, scoring 34 runs in 10 overs.

The incident occurred during the last ball of India’s 20th over in their first innings. Ollie Robinson induced an edge from Yashasvi Jaiswal, and England believed they had taken the wicket. The English players celebrated briefly after viewing the replay on the big screen.

However, the third umpire decided in India’s favor, stating that the ball had bounced before reaching the keeper’s gloves. Ben Stokes appeared disappointed with the third umpire’s decision. However, Stokes refrained from arguing with the on-field umpires.

The decision echoed a prior incident involving Rohit Sharma. Uncertain about his slip catch, Rohit Sharma opted for a review, which confirmed the ball had bounced before reaching him. Third Umpire Joel Wilson made the decision in favor of English batter Joe Root.

Ravindra Jadeja And Ravichandran Ashwin Were Over Bowled – RP Singh

Former Indian cricketer RP Singh expressed concern about the underutilization of Kuldeep Yadav during the match’s first day. Singh emphasized the challenge faced by Rohit Sharma in effectively managing three potent spinners.

“The bowlers put in a lot of effort. Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and both the fast bowlers put in a lot of effort. Siraj bowled better in his second spell than his first. The only thing I have a doubt about is that you didn’t use Kuldeep Yadav as much as you should have,” RP Singh told Colors Cineplex.

“Jadeja and Ashwin were over bowled and Kuldeep couldn’t bowl that much because of that, and this happens as well. When you have three spinners, and all three are wicket-takers, one of the bowlers is underbowled many times and that happened with Kuldeep here,” Singh added.
