Rohit returned to action during the warm-up game between India and the PMXI at Manuka Oval on Sunday, December 1. He had missed the first Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be with his family after the birth of his son. The first day of the warm-up match was washed out due to rain.

The incident occurred on the fifth ball of the 23rd over during the Prime Minister’s XI innings. Harshit Rana bowled a rapid short ball to Oliver Davies, who was facing his first ball. Mohammed Siraj gave India an early breakthrough by dismissing Matt Renshaw for 5 off 20 balls. The match was interrupted by rain with PMXI at 21 for one after 5.3 overs. The match was reduced to 46 overs per side after play resumed. Harshit Rana picked up four wickets for 44 runs in his first six overs.

Don't Think They Require Any Opinions From Anybody - Mohinder Amarnath

Former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath opened up about the debate over Rohit Sharma's batting position for the second Test. Speaking at the launch of his book Fearless: A Memoir, Amarnath said that team management is capable of making decisions that are best for the team.

"I am sure they will work it, they are in the middle of things. I don't think they require any opinions from anybody, they know how to go about it. They are all experienced players and they understand the situation and the combinations and all that, so I am sure they will work it out," Amarnath said as quoted by PTI.
