India captain Rohit Sharma is leading his team from the very front in the ongoing Super 8 game against Australia. The right-handed batsman has scored a whirlwind fifty to give his team a flying start in the crucial game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The match did not start on the best of notes for Team India as they lost the toss and Australia opted to bowl first. The start was poor too as Josh Hazlewood dismissed Virat Kohli for a duck in the second over. However, Rohit Sharma soon put India in the driver's seat by launching a stunning assault on Australia.
He got into his groove in the third over by hitting Mitchell Starc for as many as four sixes and a four. And in the fifth over, the India opener welcomed Pat Cummins into the attack by smashing him for a monstrous six. On the very first ball of the over, Rohit Sharma hit a 100-meter six as the ball landed on the roof of the stadium. The India skipper got down on one knee and hit the ball over deep midwicket for a gigantic six.
