India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma didn't have a great outing with the bat in the ongoing third ODI against England National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is underway at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Rohit, who slammed a century in the second game, was back in the hut in the second over itself. It was expected that the India skipper would carry on his good form and play another big innings, but that wasn't the case as Mark Wood and Phil Salt combined to send the opening batter back.
Mark Wood bowled a 142kph delivery in the corridor of uncertainty that straightened just enough to induce a false stroke. Rohit was caught on the crease as he had no option but to play at it and, in the process, got the thick outside edge behind.
Phil Salt, who was behind the stumps, dived to his right and took a good catch to send India National Cricket Team skipper packing.

Rohit ended with the innings of 1 runs off 2 balls and with his wicket, India National Cricket Team lost their first wicket for 6 runs. Him getting out early means the right-hander will have to wait to reach the milestone of 11000 runs in ODIs.
Rohit Sharma was under massive scanner coming into the series, slams terrific century in second ODI
Ahead of the game, Rohit Sharma was just 13 runs away from getting 11000 runs in ODIs. The India National Cricket Team skipper will now have a great opportunity to achieve the feat in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be played from 19th February.
Rohit was under massive scanner coming into the series, and with failure in the first game of the series, things got worse for him. However, he made a strong comeback in the second match, slamming his 32nd century in the ODI format and helping India win.
Rohit played an innings of 119 runs off 90 balls and batted with a strike rate of over 132, slamming 12 fours and 7 sixes as India won the game by 4 wickets and took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match ODI series.
Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli took command of the game after Rohit Sharma's dismissal
Coming to the ongoing game, after Rohit Sharma got out, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli took command of the game. The duo have batted magnificently well and have put England National Cricket Team bowlers under pressure, adding over 100 runs for the partnership.
While Gill has slammed his third consecutive half-century of the series, Kohli has looked sold with the bat and has slammed his 73rd fifty. India would be hoping that they carry on and help them post a big total on the board.
