India captain Rohit Sharma wasn’t amazed with his teammates in the ongoing first Test against England. Day 3 of the match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad has been nothing short of exceptional with both teams having their moments. 

England in their second innings have been brilliant despite wickets falling in the middle. They have taken a lead and have put India under pressure. This had made skipper Rohit Sharma think a lot and made some tactical bowling and fielding changes. 

The captain was left frustrated in the 47th over when Axar Patel and keeper-batter KS Bharat forced him to take the review. Ollie Pope came down the track to flick against the spin. He missed the ball and got hit on the front pad outside the line of off-stump. 

Indian players hardly appealed but bowler Axar Patel and keeper KS Bharat forced Rohit Sharma to take the review. The DRS showed the impact was well outside off and the batter remained not out. It meant India wasted a crucial review, especially with the way how things are panning out.

Rohit Sharma has done a great job as a skipper in the match so far. He has been brilliant with his captaincy as he made good bowling changes. Not only this, he also has kept field placements as well. This has made run-scoring hard for the England batters, who are putting in hard yards. 

Ollie Pope has been a class apart with the bat in the ongoing innings. He has held the England innings and is making sure that he helps his team set big target. The batter is approaching a century and would be hoping to take the lead past 100 runs.

Rohit Sharma to play a crucial role for India in the second innings 

With the way England are batting, it seems that they would post something decent on the board. The fourth innings challenge will be something that will be a difficult thing for India to tackle. The conditions in the last innings are often worse to bat in India. 

For that skipper Rohit Sharma will have to play a crucial role for the team in the top. The opening batter needs to bring his A game because he has been the best batter of spin for the team. With no Virat Kohli there, he will be having an added responsibility to take the team home. 

Rohit Sharma looked solid in the first innings and played some breathtaking shots. He played spin bowling pretty well and defended well too. However, he couldn’t convert the start he got as he perished while trying to attack Jack Leach and was caught. 

Rohit Sharma scored 24 runs off 27 balls. He also slammed 3 fours in his innings. He would be hoping to better his performance in the next innings and help his team an early lead in the series.
