India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma won the hearts of many with his gestures during the celebration of the Wankhede Stadium's 50 years. The event took place at the venue on Sunday (19th January).

Wankhede Stadium's 50th anniversary saw legends of the Mumbai Cricket along with youngsters. The big names in Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Rohit, and Ajinkya Rahane got the special treatment as they were invited on the stage to grace the occasion.

The seating at the stage was divided into three sections: right, center, and left. Former India National Cricket Team head coach Ravi Shastri decided to take the right seat in the corner but what caught the attention of many was when captain Rohit Sharma arrived at the stage.

Rohit, who was designated to sit on the center stage, in a heartfelt gesture, went to Ravi Shastri and requested him to move to the center seats, acknowledging his stature and contributions to Indian cricket. The former India head coach then took the center seat with Rohit on his side.

Rohit Sharma's gesture went viral on the internet with the applauding the India National Cricket Team for the respect and warmth that he showed to Ravi Shastri. The video went viral on the internet within seconds.

Rohit will be next seen in action during the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 game for Mumbai. The captain will be returning to the domestic cricket after almost 10 years. He will be playing against Jammu and Kashmir, which will be played at BKC ground on 23rd January.

Rohit has been training with the Mumbai team for the last few days. This comes after he had a poor outing in Test cricket of late. The batter scored just 31 runs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and saw a lot of criticism by the fans.

The Indian captain said that the team would try “everything they can” to “bring back the trophy” at the Wankhede Stadium. The team also did a victory parade at the venue after they brought back the T20 World Cup 2024.
