India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma reunited with his old batting partner Shikhar Dhawan ahead of India vs Bangladesh clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The second game of the tournament is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Duba on Thursday (20th Feb).
Rohit will be leading the India National Cricket Team in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The captain of the team received huge cheers after he arrived at the toss for the Bangladesh game. Even though the stadium wasn't full but only thing that was heard was cheers for the captain.
After the toss happened, the moment that was to be cherished by every Indian fan was the meet-up of Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan. The duo were seen having a fun chat and laughing out loud before hugging each other in what was a deja vu moment for cricket lovers.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were one of the finest opening duos for the India National Cricket Team. They started opening together in the 2023 ICC Champions Trophy and then were partners at the top for nearly a decade, scoring truckloads of runs.
Rohit and Dhawan opened in 115 ODIs together and scored 5148 runs at an average of 45.55 to go with 18 century partnerships. They only had West Indies' Gordon Greenidge-Desmond Haynes (5150 runs), Australia's Adam Gilchrist-Matthew Hayden (5327 runs), and India's Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly (6609 runs) ahead of them in the number of runs scored as pair.

Coming to the match, India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit lost the toss and his team was asked to field first. The Men in Blue have gone with the combination of three spinners and two fast bowlers along with Hardik Pandya as a seam-bowling all-rounder.
Rohit Sharma, at the toss, mentioned that batting under lights will be easy and highlighted the importance of winning every game in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He elaborated:
"We have played a few years back here so we felt the ball comes on better under lights. All looking good. Everyone is fit and fine to go. Let's hope we start well. There is no looking back, every game becomes very important in this tournament."
Rohit Sharma, under whom India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, would be keen to take the team to another title win in the ICC event. It remains to be seen how they go about their business in the ongoing eight-nation tournament. They would be hoping to start the event on high with the win against Bangladesh.
