Everything India captain Rohit Sharma is touching is turning into gold in the ongoing fifth match of the Test series against England. The last game of the five-match series between the teams is taking place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Be it with the leadership, bowling changes, or fielding, Rohit Sharma has been brilliant in the ongoing fifth Test against England. The India captain deserves a lot of credit with the way his bowlers have bowled on the flat track after being asked to field first.

With the wicket of Mark Wood, India left England tottering at 183/8. But the credit for that wicket goes to Rohit Sharma as he took a brilliant catch in the slips to send the batter packing. It was during Ravichandran Ashwin’s over when the off-spinner bowled a gentle off-break just outside off.

Mark Wood tried to block the ball with hard hands and in the process got the healthy outside edge. They quickly went to the left of the first skip and skipper Rohit Sharma timed his mini-leap to perfection and took a brilliant low catch.

Here’s the video:

Mark Wood couldn’t make much impact with the bat in the ongoing game. He bagged a two-ball duck as England was jolted with the 8th ball. Before the wicket of Wood, Ravichandran Ashwin removed Tom Hartley (6) as well to bag his second wicket in what has been his 100th game for India in the longest format of the game.

England has been poor with the bat in the ongoing game. They had a great start with the bat as Zak Crawley (79) and Ben Duckett (27) stitched another fifty-plus partnership and it seemed that visitors would pile up a massive total on the board, especially with the pitch being flat.

However, Kuldeep Yadav changed the course of the game after he was brought into the attack. The leg-spinner spun a web around the England batters and picked a fifer in no time. The visitors lost 6 wickets in the second session and are looking down and dusted in the game.

Rohit Sharma to play crucial for India with the bat in the ongoing Test

India captain Rohit Sharma would be hoping that his bowlers wrap up the England innings as soon as possible in the third session of the day. The Indian spinners are looking threatening in the game and it won’t be a surprise if they pick remaining two wickets quickly.

After that, the onus will be on Rohit Sharma – the batter to take his team off the great start with the bat. The India captain has looked in decent touch in the ongoing series with the bat and would want to make an impact in the last game of the series as well.

Rohit Sharma scored a fighting century in the Rajkot Test and then followed it up with a half-century in the second innings of the Ranchi Test. He has led from the front and would be keen to take his team to win in the ongoing game.
