India National Cricket Team senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, reunited with their former coach, Rahul Dravid. This came ahead of the first Test of the three-match series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team.

Rahul Dravid, under whom the India National Cricket Team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, came to the team's practice session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Rohit Sharma-led side will play the first match of the series at the same venue from Wednesday (16th October).

In a video that has gone viral on the internet, Rahul Dravid can be seen sharing some laughs when the T20 World Cup-winning group, which included captain Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant. This was for the first time they caught up after the celebrations of winning.

Rahul Dravid's tenure as India head coach

Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the India National Cricket Team in 2021 after Ravi Shastri's tenure ended. The former skipper of the team changed the approach for the team they played in all three formats of the game.

Under Dravid, the team lost the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, the ICC World Test Championship Final in 2023, and the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 at home. But he was convinced by Rohit Sharma to continue till the T20 World Cup 2024.

And in the T20 World Cup, India, under him, played quality cricket. They remained undefeated and became the first team in the history of the tournament to win the event without even losing a single game. They defeated South Africa in the final.

Rohit Sharma and his team get in the groove for the New Zealand Tests

India National Cricket Team have begun their preparations for the Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. They will be coming into the series on the back of their magical performances in the series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The Rohit Sharma-led defeated the opposition by 2-0.

India would be keeping an eye on all three games as they would want to complete a 3-0 whitewash. This is because, after this series, they are slated to lock horns with Australia down under. Winning three games against the Kiwis would make their road to the ICC World Test Championship final easy.

The series also would be crucial for both Rohit and Virat Kohli in the context of their form with the bat. The premier batters didn't have a great outing in the Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. They failed to get going in the two games and would be eager to get some runs under their belt.
