Romario Shepherd, on Saturday (May 3), took Khaleel Ahmed to the cleaners during the ongoing match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Asked to bat first, RCB were off to a stunning start. Virat Kohli and Jacob Bethell fired on all cylinders as the Bengaluru-based outfit raced away to 71/0 at the end of the powerplay. The RCB openers went on to add 97 runs off just 59 balls for the first wicket.
With 97 runs coming off the first 10 overs, RCB were looking destined to post a 200-plus total. However, their momentum took a big hit after Bethell's departure. In the next 8 overs, they managed to collect just 62 runs while losing four more wickets.
At the end of the 18th over, they were on 159/5, and the 200-run mark looked like a distant dream. However, RCB went on to finish their innings on 213/5 thanks to a whirlwind 14-ball fifty from Romario Shepherd. The West Indies allrounder turned the game on its head by taking Khaleel Ahmed to the cleaners in the 19th over.
Romario Shepherd blows away Khaleel Ahmed:
Khaleel conceded 33 runs in the over as he bowled the most expensive over of the ongoing IPL 2025. Romario Shepherd welcomed Khaleel into the attack with a six before hitting him for another six. On the third ball, the West Indian hit the pacer for a four before hitting the fourth ball for a six as well.
Things went from bad to worse for Khaleel as the following delivery was a no-ball, and Shepherd hit that delivery for a six as well. Khaleel then bowled a brilliant yorker to avoid conceding any run on the free-hit but was hit for another four on the final. Khaleel Ahmed's 3-0-65-0 is the most expensive 3-over spell in T20 history.

Shepherd continued his onslaught in the final over as well. On the last three balls of the over bowled by Matheesha Pathirana, he hit a four and two sixes to complete a sensational fifty and powered RCB to a 200-plus total.
