West Indies batters Roston Chase and Matthew Forde were involved in a heated argument after a disastrous mix-up during the third and final ODI match against Australia. Matthew Forde and Roston Chase exchanged some words as they blamed each other for the run-out.
The Australia team opted to bat first after winning the toss at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday, February 6. The home team got off to a good start as Xavier Bartlett dismissed opener Kjorn Ottley, who scored 8 runs, in the third over of the West Indies innings.
The visiting team finished the first powerplay with a score of 36-1. However, they lost wickets in the middle overs and were bowled out for 86 runs in 24.1 overs. Only three batters, Alick Athanaze, Keacy Carty, and Roston Chase, managed to reach the double-digit mark
Xavier Bartlett extended his impressive form in international cricket, claiming four wickets for a mere 21 runs. Lance Morris and Adam Zampa made significant contributions, each securing two wickets. Sean Abbott added one wicket to the Australian bowling attack.

The incident took place in the 21st over of the innings when Matthew Forde hit the ball towards mid-wicket and attempted a quick single. Australia’s substitute fielder, Mackenzie Harvey, quickly dove at deep mid-wicket and then threw the ball to the wicketkeeper’s end.
Forde ran halfway down the pitch while Chase remained at his end, resulting in the run-out. Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis quickly removed the bails, restricting the visitors to 73/7. Forde had to depart for a duck without troubling the opposition team in the dead rubber match.
Matthew Forde showed frustration towards Chase while the Australians were celebrating the wicket. As Forde was making his way back to the pavilion after his brief innings, he and Chase continued their verbal exchange.
