Riyan Parag's toss slip-up leaves Rishabh Pant in splits

Presenter Simon Doull welcomed both the captains alongside the toss representative and match referee at the toss. He asked for the coin to be handed to Riyan Parag, who instantly threw it in the air, producing a hilarious moment.

It was a big blooper as the coin barely spun in the air, prompting Rishabh Pant to refrain from making a call. Pant was seen laughing after that, and he teased Riyan Parag by saying that “Tune aise hi fek diya, spin bhi kar yaar!” -- roughly translating to, “You just tossed it like that, at least make it spin!”

Meanwhile, Simon Doull asked Riyan Parag to spin the coin again on the second attempt, Pant called tails and won the toss.

Feels good to contribute to the team's cause - Rishabh Pant

Speaking at the toss, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant said that the pitch looked dry, and they wanted to make the most of it by batting first. He also announced that Prince Yadav will replace Akash Deep in the playing XI. He elaborated:

"We are going to bat first. The wicket looks a bit drier, so we want to take advantage of it. There won't be any dew, so we are batting first.

"The general thought process was to take the positives. We are lacking in small areas. We have discussed those things. We will take it forward. Feels good to contribute to the team's cause. It was good to get back into form and contribute. I was not worried about it, knew it was around the corner. Sometimes it takes time, and I got time in the last game. Just one change. Prince Yadav comes in for Akash Deep."

Meanwhile, Riyan Parag, who replaced injured Sanju Samson as the skipper, said that the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has replaced Samson in the playing XI.

"We were looking to bowl as well. The surface settles a little bit under the lights. Should be better than the last time we played here. Vaibhav (Suryavanshi) comes in, the youngster. It's been tricky for us. We have been doing small bits right but as a collective group, we haven't done the right things. We did well against Lucknow last year so hoping to do the same tonight. Absolutely. We love playing here and hopefully we make full use of it today."

Notably, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest player to play in the Indian Premier League.

Youngest Players to debut in IPL:

14 years and 23 days old - Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Rajasthan Royals), 2025 (Tonight)

16 years and 157 days old - Prayas Ray Barman (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), 2019

17 years and 11 days old - Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Punjab Kings), 2018
