The in-form Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Sai Kishore picked a big wicket for his side as he rattled the stumps of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) explosive batsman Heinrich Klaasen on Sunday, April 6.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran looked absolutely shocked and shattered after Sai Kishore dismissed Heinrich Klaasen at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad in the 19th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Heinrich Klaasen falls for 27

After the failure of the top order, the responsibility once again fell on Heinrich Klaasen to stabilize the innings and take his team to a respectable total.

He started off quite well and smashed some great boundaries. However, the star wicketkeeper-batsman was unable to convert his start into a big score.

On the 5th ball of the 14th over, Sai Kishore bowled a flat delivery to Klaasen and it curved into leg-stump. The SRH wicketkeeper-batsman went on the back foot and looked to play a pull shot. However, he failed to make any connection with the ball, and his leg stump was pegged back.

After picking up the wicket of Klaasen for 19-ball 27, Sai Kishore was pumped up, and he was seen emulating Shoaib Akhtar's trademark airplane celebration. Also, the reaction of Kavya Maran was caught on camera after Klaasen's dismissal and she looked absolutely dejected.

What happened in the previous completed IPL match between GT and SRH?

The previous IPL match between the Gujarat Titans and the Sunrisers Hyderabad was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Talking about the match before that, it took place on March 31, 2024, and Gujarat Titans registered a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad.

After opting to bat, SRH posted a decent total of 162/8 on the board. Their innings saw contributions from Abhishek Sharma (29 off 20), Heinrich Klaasen (24 off 13), and Abdul Samad (29 off 14), but none of their batters managed to longer innings.

The Gujarat Titans bowlers struck at regular intervals, with Mohit Sharma finishing as the top wicket-taker as he had the figures of 3/25. Noor Ahmad, Rashid Khan, Umesh Yadav, and Azmatullah Omarzai also chipped in with a wicket each to keep SRH under pressure throughout.

In the run-chase, GT got off to a quick start with Wriddhiman Saha (25 off 13) setting the tone. Shubman Gill (36 off 28) and Sai Sudharsan (45 off 36) provided further stability to the innings before David Miller, with his unbeaten 44 off 27, took GT home with 5 balls remaining.

For SRH, Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Mayank Markande took a wicket each, but the lack of wickets at regular intervals cost them the match.
