Sai Sudharsan and Gerald Coetzee joined hands to pull off an impressive catch to dismiss Jonny Bairstow during the ongoing IPL 2025 Eliminator between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.

MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first. His decision was justified as the five-time champions were off to a solid start. They did face some hiccups early on as Rohit Sharma struggled with his rhythm and was also dropped twice but Jonny Bairstow looked in great touch from the start.

Bairstow smashed all GT bowlers

Playing his first game of IPL 2025, the England star set the tone by smashing in-form Prasidh Krishna for 26 runs in the fourth over. By the time the powerplay came to an end, MI had raced away to 79/0 with Bairstow scoring 44 of those runs in just 17 balls.

Bairstow was looking unstoppable and GT needed something special to get rid of him. And Sai Sudharsan did exactly that as he came up with a moment of magic to end the MI opener's whirlwind knock. Bairstow returned to the pavilion in the 8th over and Sai Sudharsan played a huge role in it.

Sai Kishore breaks the opening partnership

On the second ball of the 8th over, Bairstow decided to play a reverse sweep and made a fine connection as well. The ball was hit to the left of Sai Sudharsan who was standing at a backward point. Not only the ball was traveling at a good pace but was also above the GT star's head.

At first, it seemed like the ball would fly away for a boundary. However, Sudharsan came up with an unbelievable acrobatic effort to intercept the ball before smartly parrying the ball mid-air towards Gerald Coetzee who made no mistake in taking the catch.

Watch the stunning effort from Sai Sudharsan and Gerald Coetzee:

Bairstow departed after scoring 47 runs off 21 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes. Talking about the game, MI were on 120/1 after 11 overs at the time of writing this report. Rohit was batting on 57 while Suryakumar Yadav was unbeaten on 13.
