A shocking mistake from Pakistan's offspinner Sajid Khan gave Zak Crawley a huge reprieve during the second Test between Pakistan and England at Multan. Crawley would have been run out by miles had Sajid Khan picked up the ball cleanly before breaking down the stumps.
During the fourth ball of the 8th over of England's first innings, Ben Duckett nudged a ball to backward square. Duckett's opening partner Zak Crawley came way down the track in search of a quick run but was denied.
Crawley turned around but knew that he was in trouble. The ball was thrown to the non-striker's end where Sajid Khan disturbed the stumps before the ball arrived in his hands. The umpire checked through multiple angles whether a single bail was in place or not.
But in the end, the third umpire gave the decision in the batting team's favor. It was a shocking miss by Sajid Khan. Given that England's batters have been dominant in this series, it was a missed opportunity.

A frustrated Sajid Khan bowled a bull toss in the next ball which Ben Duckett duly obliged and put away through the midwicket region for a four. However, Pakistan were lucky to see Zak Crawley's back after a few overs.
In the 13th over of the match, left-arm spinner Noman Ali had Crawley caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan for 27. The decision was given not out by the on-field umpire but was later overturned after Shan Masood opted for a review.
Zak Crawley dismissed cheaply but Ben Duckett carries on
Crawley could add just 7 more runs to his tally after the reprieve. It was a typically aggressive innings from the England opener who smashed 3 fours during his knock. However, Ben Duckett kept chipping away and smashed his fifty off just 47 balls.
The left-hander later continued his innings and went closer to a well-deserved hundred. He looked in magnificent form as England continued to bat at almost five runs per over.
Kamran Ghulam shines on international debut
Earlier, Pakistan scored 366 in their first innings, thanks to stellar performances from the youngsters Kamran Ghulam and Saim Ayub. Ghulam scored a century in his maiden international innings and was dismissed for 118 off 224 balls with 11 fours and 1 six.
Ghulam got a chance to play in place of star Pakistan batter Babar Azam, who has been dropped for the second and third Tests of the series. On the other hand, opener Ayub learned from his mistakes in the last game and scored a patient 77 off 160 balls. He struck 7 fours in his knock.
England are currently leading this series 1-0 after an emphatic win in the first Test at Multan. England's batters smashed records in the match as they defeated the home team by an innings and 47 runs.
