Former Pakistan opener Salman Butt brutally roasted the allrounder Iftikhar Ahmed during the ongoing National T20 Cup. Butt used the name of the legendary West Indies cricketer Viv Richards during the commentary stint and decied to take a dig at Iftikhar Ahmed.
The incident happened during the first semi-final of the National T20 Cup between Peshawar and Abbottabad played on March 26. Iftikhar Ahmed bowled a full delivery on the stumps, which the batter Kamran Ghulam decided to smash through the leg-side.
However, the batter didn't get the elevation, and the ball settled down the throat of Maaz Sadaqat at long-on. Iftikhar was pumped up after picking up the wicket and even said a few words to the departing Kamran Ghulam.

It was a big wicket at that point as Kamran Ghulam was dismissed for just 2 off 3 balls. Ghulam has grown in stature over the years and is also a part of Pakistan's national team now. His wicket was a huge blow for Peshawar.
Ghulam himself is known for such fiery celebrations, and Iftikhar decided to give his dose to him. The batter was disappointed and departed the field after knowing that he had played a poor shot.
The game saw Peshawar prevail after putting a mammoth score on the board in the first innings. Peshawar scored 243-3 while batting first on the back of a brilliant hundred from the opener Sahibzada Farhan.
Other batters like Waqar Ahmed and Maaz Sadaqat also made useful contributions with the bat. In reply, Abbottabad got a good start but lost the momentum after losing their first wicket.
Opener Shahzaib Khan scored a vital fifty, but it wasn't good enough to take his team close to the target. Abbottabad were reduced to just 187-8 in 20 overs and thus, fell 56 runs short. It was a combined bowling effort from Peshawar's bowlers on the day.
Lahore defeats Peshawar to clinch the title
While Peshawar had an excellent day in the semi-final, they were outclassed by Lahore in the summit clash. They lost the final by a big margin of 9 wickets with four overs to spare. Skipper Iftikhar Ahmed top-scored for his team in the final but couldn't take his team past the finish line.
Iftikhar is currently running out for Pakistan's national side. He last played an international fixture during the famous India vs Pakistan game in last year's T20 World Cup. After a string of poor performances, he was dropped from the team and has yet to make a comeback.
