Jasprit Bumrah’s unique release leaves world cricket in awe

Well, Bumrah has one of the most unique bowling actions in cricket history. The 31-year-old doesn’t charge in with speed like most fast bowlers. Instead, he takes a short and steady run-up, but what makes him dangerous is the sudden burst of pace at the time of release.

His unusual action, combined with a powerful release and hyperextension of the arm, makes it tough for batters to pick the ball early, leaving them surprised by the speed and bounce. Bumrah is also known for his exceptional yorker, slower balls, and bouncers.

Notably, Bumrah and Sanjana tied the knot in March 2021 in a private ceremony in Goa. The adorable couple also have a son together named Angad. Now, Bumrah and Sanjana have become one of the most-loved couples in the cricket world.

Jasprit Bumrah likely to be rested for 2nd Test amid workload concerns

Meanwhile, Sanjana and Bumrah are both currently in England, with the pacer playing in the ongoing five-match Test series for India while she is doing her broadcasting duty. He last played in the first Test against England but might not feature in the second Test at Edgbaston starting July 2.

The Indian cricket team is likely to rest the star pacer to manage his workload in the ongoing Test series. Bumrah had a tiring outing in the Headingley Test, bowling 24.4 overs in the first innings and 20 more in the second, where he surprisingly didn’t take a single wicket.

The team is now considering giving him a short break to avoid the risk of injury. With Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep available as backup bowlers, India might change their plans. However, Bumrah’s absence could put extra pressure on the rest of the bowling attack, especially with India trailing by 0-1 in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England.
