During the second Test between India and New Zealand at Pune, youngster Sarfaraz Khan persuaded Rohit Sharma to successfully DRS to dismiss New Zealand's No. 3 batter Will Young.

It was a close call that brought India back into the game. Offspinner R Ashwin bowled the ball going past the leg stump. Will Young looked to tickle the ball through the leg side but missed it and the ball went past his glove to the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

The on-field umpire initially gave it not out but Rohit Sharma was somehow convinced by Sarfaraz Khan to take a DRS at the last moment. Hardly any Indian fielder was convinced of a nick here but Sarfaraz Khan was entirely convinced.

In the end, it turned out to be a successful review as Will Young got a feather of the glove down the leg side for a catch. It was the end of a good partnership between Young and Devon Conway.

Will Young was dismissed for 18 off 45 balls. The batter looked set for a big score and was looking solid at the crease. But he was finally dismissed thanks to a brilliant judgement from Sarfaraz Khan.

The players were elated after the umpire reversed the decision and congratulated Sarfaraz Khan. It was the end of a stubborn stand of 44 runs between Devon Conway and Will Young and a huge credit would go to Sarfaraz Khan.

New Zealand chose to bat after winning the toss

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry wicket at Pune which is expected to assist the spinners as the game goes on. The visitors made one change and brought in left-arm spinning allrounder Mitchell Santner in place of the pacer Matt Henry.

Meanwhile, India made three changes to the Playing XI after losing the first game. Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep came into the Playing XI for the Men in Blue in place of KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj. Sarfaraz Khan kept his place after his maiden hundred in the last match.

Skipper Tom Latham and Devon Conway started steadily and looked set for a good partnership. But R Ashwin had other ideas and picked up the wicket of Tom Latham in his first over of the match.

R Ashwin breaks New Zealand's opening stand

R Ashwin had a rare bad game in the last Test but came back strongly here with a wicket in his first over. Conway and Young steadied the innings together before Ashwin struck again to dismiss Will Young.

Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway ensured that New Zealand did not lose any more wickets as they went into lunch at 92-2. New Zealand lead the series 1-0 after they defeated India by 8 wickets in the first Test at Bengaluru.
