Australia whitewashed the West Indies on their own ground, as the hosts were bowled out for the second-lowest total in the history of Test cricket. Australia won all three Tests and has made a commanding start to the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.
The Aussies missed defending their title against South Africa in the WTC 2025 Final, but that loss hasn't demotivated them. Mitchell Starc probably had the stars in his favour as he played his 100th Test and had the pink ball in his hand.
First, a carnage from Mitchell Starc, followed by an onslaught from Scott Boland, led the West Indies to a humiliating collapse. Despite being bowled out for just 121 in the second innings, the Australians claimed a huge 176-run victory to claim a 3-0 win in the series.
Scott Boland's historic hat-trick
Australian fourth seamer Scott Boland was brought into the Australian Playing 11 for the final test match against the West Indies, replacing spinner Nathan Lyon. Boland claimed 3 wickets in the first inning as well.
However, Boland, who has always produced some special performances with the pink ball, did a wonder here at the Sabina Park as well. In the second innings, after a carnage of a spell from speedster Mitchell Starc, Boland claimed his first hat-trick in red-ball cricket.

Boland came in as the third pacer for the innings and picked the wickets of Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph and Jomel Warrican, leaving West Indies at 26/9, while Starc closed the proceedings for the Aussies.
This was the tenth hat-trick by an Australian in Test cricket and the first since Peter Siddle took it back in 2010.

Mitchell Starc fires in with a 6-for
Left-arm quick Mitchell Starc also turns wonder man once again for Australia with the pink ball. Starc's record with the pink ball looks as if the ball was introduced for Starc to pick more and more wickets.
The speedster was starring in his 100th match of his Test career, as the Australian great picked a single wicket in the first innings and then came back with a fiery spell in the second, where he toppled the West Indies top order. Starc's 6-for made West Indies bite the dust for the second-lowest total in the history of Test cricket.
Starc also took the quickest five-wicket haul in the history of the format, of which three wickets came in the first over alone. He also completed 400 wickets in his test career and now has 725 wickets overall.

Australia is at the top of the WTC Points table
Australia has swept hosts West Indies in the first Test series they played in this ICC World Test Championship cycle, 2025-27. Starc's career-best figures of 6/9 led him to 15 wickets in the series, and hence he was awarded the Player of the Series.
Australia, having won all three games as of yet, is at the top of the WTC 2025-27 points table, with 36 points and a PCT of 100.00. They are followed by Sri Lanka, England and India, with a PCT of 66.67, 66.67, and 33.33, respectively.
