Shaheen Afridi was clearly embarrassed by the way he was unable to stop a the four. It wasn't a difficult stop by any means by the left-arm quick just couldn't do it cleanly. The misfield resulted in four important runs for South Africa.

Shaheen Afridi had an off day with the ball in hand. The left-arm fast bowler hardly got any support from the pitch with the new ball but was able to break the opening wicket stand by dismissing the opener Tony de Zorzi for 22.

A couple of big partnerships followed for South Africa before Shaheen Afridi struck again for his second wicket of the day. He dismissed the allrounder Wiaan Mulder for just 2 runs to land a huge blow on the Proteas.

In an innings where Pakistan scored over 350 runs, Afridi produced figures of 2-66 in 10 overs. However, the Men in Green had more expectations from their premier fast bowler. Afridi has picked up 5 wickets in 2 matches so far at an average of 30.80. However, he has conceded runs at an economy rate of 7.70.

South Africa blast a huge score on the board

It was a do-or-die game for both the teams as Pakistan and South Africa faced each other for a spot in the tri-series final. Both came into this match after losing their first match to New Zealand, who are already in the final.

South Africa posted a massive score of 352-5 in 50 overs after electing to bat first. The Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma scored 82 off 96 balls while opening the batting while Matthew Breetzke continued his good form and struck a brilliant 83 off 84 balls.

Wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen provided the late impetus with a blistering knock of 87 off just 56 balls. Klaasen smashed 11 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. Kyle Verryenne also played well for a quickfire 44 off 32 balls. Shaheen Afridi was the top-wicket taker for Pakistan with 2-66.

Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha's brilliant stand

In reply, Pakistan were in a spot of bother at one time despite receiving a blistering start by their openers. Babar Azam's poor form continued as he was dismissed cheaply for 23. Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman and Saud Shakeel in quick succession which pushed them back.

However, it was all about Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha afterwards. The pair of the captain and the vice-captain formed an ubelievable partnership of 260 runs for the fourth wicket to put their team in command.

Salman was dismissed for 134 off just 103 balls but the skipper Rizwan stayed till the end and remained unbeaten on 122 off 128 balls to take their team home. Pakistan will now face New Zealand in the tri-series final to be played on February 14.
