Age is just a number and Shahid Afridi has once again proved it. The former Pakistan captain rolled back the years with some stunning power-hitting in the ongoing Global T20 Canada.
Shahid Afridi retired from Tests way back in 2010 but continued playing white-ball cricket. He brought down the curtains on his ODI career after the 2015 World Cup but kept playing in the T20Is. The former Pakistan international led his country in the 2016 T20 World Cup and later in 2017, he retired from the shortest format of the game too.

And while Shahid Afridi does not play cricket on a regular basis since his retirement from international cricket, it did not stop him from taking the bowlers to the cleaners during the game between Vancouver Knights and Toronto National on Friday (July 21).
He came out to bat in the 11th over and hit the ground running. In the 12th over when Junaid Siddique bowled a slower short delivery, Shahid Afridi smashed it powerfully down the ground for a six. In the fourteenth over, he took Nawab Singh to the cleaners.
After Colin Munro took a single on the second ball to give Shahid Afridi the strike, the Pakistan great smashed Nawab for two fours and a six. The six was a trademark Shahid Afridi shot as he sat on his knee and hit the ball over long off for a maximum. He, however, could not continue for long and departed after scoring 23 runs off just 12 balls.

Talking about the game, Toronto Nationals won the game by 9 runs. The match was reduced to 15 overs per side due to wet outfield. Asked to bat first, the Nationals scored 151 for 3 in 15 overs with Munro scoring 78 runs off just 45 balls. In reply, the Knights finished their innings on 142 for 4.
