Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was seemingly in full mood to frustrate the Pakistan batters and the umpires on Day 5 of the ongoing first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Shakib did not have a great outing with both the bat and ball against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
The legendary spin all-rounder from Bangladesh first bowled 27 overs and scalped only one scalp while conceding 100 runs to Pakistan.
And then Shakib could contribute only 15 runs off 16 balls in the tourists’ mammoth total of 565 runs in their first innings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

However, the real drama unfolded during Pakistan’s second innings on Sunday, August 25, when Shakib decided to steal some spotlight in the second ball of the 32nd over. As Shakib prepared to deliver the ball, frustration got the better of him with Mohammad Rizwan being on the crease.
In an unusual display of emotion, the Bangladesh all-rounder threw the ball directly to the wicketkeeper, Litton Das, on the full, catching everyone off guard.
Rizwan, who wasn't ready for the delivery, was visibly upset by the incident. This unusual action led to the ball being declared dead, with umpire Richard Kettleborough displeased by Shakib's conduct.
He is a senior player, and his outburst did not impress many, even Kettleborough had some words with Shakib following his surprising conduct. Now, the clip of the moment is going viral on social media.

However, in the next over, the former Bangladesh skipper got rid of Abdullah Shafique for 37 runs. Shakib struck a crucial blow by dismissing Shafique, who was caught by Shadman Islam. Pakistan opener lost his wicket due to his hastiness and ill-advised shot.

Despite defending comfortably and keeping Shakib at bay, Shafique decided to go for a big shot, stepping out of his crease to drive down the ground. Shakib cleverly floated the ball outside off-stump, causing it to turn slightly.
Shafique's attempted shot went off the edge of his bat, and Islam made a straightforward catch near the backward point. The star all-rounder has so far been impressive during Pakistan’s second innings with the ball, taking three wickets for Bangladesh on the final day of the Rawalpindi Test.
He could add more to his tally, as Pakistan is struggling at 139/8 in 50 overs, taking only 22 runs lead in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Well, Bangladesh is close to winning the opening match of the ongoing two-match Test series in Pakistan in Rawalpindi; the venue will also host the second and final Test on August 30.
Legal trouble looms for Shakib
Notably, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been reportedly served with a legal notice demanding the removal of Shakib from all formats of the national team. This action came after Shakib was listed among 146 individuals in an FIR related to a murder that occurred during the recent nationwide protests.
These protests had significant political impacts, leading to the resignation and subsequent flight of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the country.
