The Bangla Tigers Mississauga (BTM), having won the toss, opted to bowl first, setting the stage for an electrifying start. The Bengal Tigers had a really great start, as David Wiese removed Kyle Mayers (4) in the third ball of the Surrey Jaguars' (SJ) innings, and then Canada's Hamza Tariq fell to Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib for just 10.

Curtis Campher got rid of Brandon McMullen (9) and later dismissed Surrey Jaguars' (SJ) skipper and Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for just 1, thanks to Bangla Tigers Mississauga (BTM) skipper Shakib's incredible catch.

The dismissal occurred on the very first ball of the eighth over. Campher delivered a full ball, and Stoinis aimed to hit it out of the park. However, Stoinis didn’t quite get the power he intended, and the bat slipped slightly in his hands.

The Bangla Tigers Mississauga (BTM) captain displayed exceptional fielding skills by making a stunning dive to complete a spectacular catch at mid-off, with Shakib taking the crucial wicket of the explosive Australian batter in the match.

Now, the clip of Shakib’s incredible fielding efforts to remove Stoinis has been going viral across social media platforms. The ace Bangladesh all-rounder timely moved back and amazingly dived to make sure Stoinis' return to the dugout during their Global T20 Canada 2024 match.

Bangla Tigers Mississauga vs Surrey Jaguars Match Highlights

The team BTM capitalized on early momentum, with Shreyas Movva could only score 21 runs to take the Surrey Jaguars (SJ) to a respectable total of 108/8 in 18 overs against the Bangla Tigers Mississauga (BTM) in Brampton. Virandeep Singh and Mohammad Nabi also contributed 17 and 13 runs, respectively.

Curtis Campher was the standout bowler for BTM, finishing with stunning figures of 4/17 in 3 overs against the SJ team. Chasing the paltry target, the Bangla Tigers Mississauga (BTM) team received its first setback in-form of Khalid Shah (1), thanks to stunning bowling from Ben Lister, who also removed Muhammad Waseem (16) in the fifth over.

Sunil Narine dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz (19) in the seventh over to help the Surrey Jaguars (SJ) team be in the game against the BTM team. Shakib Al Hasan's 36 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed's 12 runs at the lower order were enough for the BTM team to win the game by two wickets with three balls to spare against the Surrey Jaguars (SJ) team.
