Shimron Hetmyer hits 52 off 32 balls against GT

Rajasthan Royals were given a huge target of 218 to chase by the Gujarat Titans. They started poorly as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana got out for low scores.

After that, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag built a crucial 48-run partnership that kept RR in the hunt. However, the dismissal of Parag put the Rajasthan Royals under more pressure.

Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer, who came to bat at the No.6 spot, showcased a batting masterclass and smashed the GT bowlers all over the park.

He completed his half-century off 29 balls but was unable to convert it into a big score and was dismissed in the 16th over.

GT pacer Prasidh Krishna bowled a short delivery to Shimron Hetmyer, who tried to pull but holed it out to the deep backward square where Sai Kishore completed a good catch to send him packing for 52 runs off 32 balls, with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Shimron Hetmyer looked quite furious with himself after getting out and was seen punching his helmet furiously.

We are willing to do the hard work - Prasidh Krishna

Speaking ahead of the match, pacer Prasidh Krishna said that the Gujarat Titans have made him feel at home. He said:

"Feels good, the first game back felt like I was coming in after a long time but the franchise has made me feel home and nice. There are a lot of people here that I have played with, played against so nice to come back and do well for the team."

Prasidh Krishna further said that playing multiple formats helped him prepare very well for the Indian Premier League 2025 and he also talked about change in his role. He elaborated:

"(On the importance of preparation for IPL) It was important. Every time I play good amount of cricket and come into the tournament, I feel good because T20 is such that you need to be thinking on your feet. You need to be able to do multiple things at once and having played multiple formats certainly helps me.

"(On his role in the team) It has slightly changed but then you never know when I’ll get to bowl in any game, so far it has been that I am bowling one in the powerplay and rest outside the powerplay but we are prepared, we are willing to do the hard work that the team wants.

While talking about the Ahmedabad pitch, Prasidh Krishna said that it has some support for pacers. He stated:

" I haven’t really looked at the wicket yet but Ahmedabad is the kind of wicket that has something for the seamers and it gets easier as the day progresses. We are here to have clear plans, go out there and execute them."
