Shubman Gill and Abhishek Nayar compete in nets
On Saturday, November 30, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video in which the fielding coach T Dilip put Abhishek Nayar and Shubman Gill against each other in a fun fielding drill.
Dilip told the duo to showcase their ability to throw and knock over the stump in the nets by standing behind a white popping line.
It was a challenging drill as only one practice stump was placed to target. Gill and Nayar first had warm-ups in which both of them hit the stump once but weren't able to uproot it.
Meanwhile, when the main competition began after the warm-ups, Gill and Nayar did a poor job as they weren't able to hit the stump even once.
Then, Gill invited T Dilip to join the competition and on the first try, he uprooted the stumps with a brilliant direct hit, showing why he is the fielding coach. Dilip was pumped up after winning the battle and celebrated wildly.

Shubman Gill likely to return to India playing XI in the second Test
Gill was ruled out of the Test series opener against the Australia National Cricket Team due to a thumb injury that he sustained during the match simulation against India A.
Along with Gill, Rohit Sharma missed the match and KL Rahul opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Gill's spot was taken by Devdutt Padikkal.
Shubman Gill, meanwhile, has recovered quite well and was seen doing batting practice on Friday. He himself delivered an update on his fitness in a video shared by BCCI and revealed that he faced no issues while batting in the nets.
Reportedly, he is fully recovered and will take back his No.3 position in the Indian playing XI against Australia in the Adelaide Test. There is also a high possibility of him featuring in the pink-ball tour match against PM XI - the first day of which got washed out due to rain.
The absence of Rohit and Gill wasn't felt in the first Test as India registered a dominant 295-run win. However, with both Rohit and Gill returning changes are expected in the Indian playing XI.
KL Rahul delivered a stunning performance in the first Test and looked the most comfortable India batter out in the middle. Hence, he is likely to be retained, which means Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel could be the two batters who will make way for the seniors.
