At 43 and in the twilight of his illustrious career, MS Dhoni still has got what it takes to outwit a youngster on the field. In a format usually dominated by young players, the former India skipper has repeatedly proven that he can give anyone a run for their money.
MS Dhoni showed it once again on Sunday while leading Chennai Super Kings in their ongoing game against table-toppers Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The veteran wicketkeeper showcased his street-smartness and out-of-the-box thinking as his ploy led to the big wicket of Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill.

It happened in the third over when Anshul Kamboj was bowling to Gill. As usual, MS Dhoni was behind the stumps while Urvil Patel was standing at first slip. Just before the delivery was bowled, Dhoni was seen signaling Urvil to move to his right.
And the decision to move Urvil a bit wide worked off instantly as Gill edged the ball straight to him at wide slip. Gill danced down the track in an attempt to play an ambitious drive and ended up edging the ball straight to Urvil at wide slip. The in-form Titans skipper departed after scoring just 13 runs.

Talking about the ongoing game, Chennai Super Kings are looking destined to inflict a heavy defeat on the table-toppers and end their campaign on a winning note. At the time of writing this report, the Titans were reeling at 110/7 in the 14th over while chasing 231 runs.
Arshad Khan and Rahul Tewatia were batting in the middle for the Titans. A win in the ongoing game would have confirmed the Titans' place in the top two. However, they are unlikely to win the game and it might cost them a place in the top two.
They are currently at the top of the table with 18 points, but Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru can replace them by taking their points tally to 19 by winning their respective last league games.
