During the India vs England 2nd ODI match at the Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground, Cardiff, after being invited to bat first, Shubman Gill, who was looking in good shape, was livid with himself after being dismissed by Gus Atkinson. He screamed at himself as Ben Duckket took a sharp catch at cover.

Shubman Gill played an uppish cover drive off Gus Atkinson which went straight into the hands of Ben Duckett, who took a sharp catch as the ball middled the India captain’s bat and went fast to the English opener.

Shubman Gill furious after being dismissed

The incident happened 7.4th over, with the ball being hit well, but from the air. Gill was furious, as it was a half-volley outside off, and Gill moved forward to hit the ball as hard as he could, but failed to hold it down, and it went to Duckett at cover, as the ball was travelling.

Shubman Gill, who scored an 80 in the first game before being retired hurt, came back with similar form in the 2nd match as well, as he looked in deft touch and scored 31 runs off 30 deliveries, smashing six fours played some excellent and aggressive cricket on the day before departing and gave India a good start.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma stabilise India's innings

Currently, India are at a good position with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli at the crease and looking in good touch, and their eyes are well set on the match. Both have the stage set for them to eye a big score on the day and set up a massive target for England. India are 81/1 at the end of 13 overs.

India make one forced change

India made one forced change in the game with KL Rahul being unavailable due to illness; Ishan Kishan came into the squad. Shubman Gill was happy to bat first as well, and he discussed his fitness update as well. The Men in Blue are already leading the series 1-0, and a win in Cardiff will mean a series win.

While England made two changes in the side, Saqib Mahmood and Gus Atkinson came in the side for Josh Tongue and Liam Dawson. The Three Lions captain, Harry Brook, won the toss and elected to field first.
