The former India skipper recently underwent knee surgery in Mumbai. During IPL 2023, Dhoni struggled with knee pain but went on to play for Chennai Super Kings in all games. Later, he took a break to treat his knee injury.

MS Dhoni Led CSK To IPL 2023 Title

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni drove Chennai Super Kings to the title in IPL 2023. The Dhoni-led side won the IPL 2023 final after crushing Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets.

With the victory, CSK clinched their 5th title in Indian Premier League- equalling the record with Mumbai Indians. While there were rumors that Dhoni will retire after the season, the CSK skipper cleared that he will take a decision later.

Speaking on his retirement from IPL, the CSK skipper said that there is a lot of time to take the decision. The 42-year-old said that he will probably take a decision during the IPL 2024 auction in December later this year. In IPL 2023, the wicketkeeper-batsman stuck to his role of keeping and batting in the lower order.

The right-handed batsman slammed 104 runs in 12 innings with 8 unbeaten knocks. Mostly playing a few numbers of deliveries in every match in the lower order, Dhoni held a strike rate of 182+.
