Watch: Sri Lanka brutally mock Bangladesh with 'timed-out' celebration after T20I series win

The Sri Lanka Cricket Team displayed a magnificent performance in the T20I series against Bangladesh and made sure that they are on track for the T20 World Cup 2024. They won the series by the margin of 2-1 and were fantastic with bat and ball.
Sri Lanka started the series on a high note as they won the first game by the margin of 3 runs. Asked to bat first, they posted a gigantic total of 206 runs on the board. They were challenged a lot in the second innings but they held their nerves and restricted the opposition to 203 to win the game.
In the second match, Sri Lanka was at the receiving end of the thrashing loss. They were asked to bat first and they managed just 165 runs. With the ball, they weren’t up to the mark as Bangladesh batted brilliantly to win the game by 8 wickets and level the series by the margin of 1-1.
Sri Lanka’s best came in the series decider. They were asked to bat first yet again and they had a decent outing. Kusal Mendis (86) played a brutal innings at the top of the order whereas vital contributions from the others powered Sri Lanka to a total of 174 runs.
With the ball, Nuwan Thushara wreaked havoc across the Bangladesh batting lineup as he picked a fifer including a hat-trick. His sensational show with the ball reduced the opposition to 32/6. Rishad Hossain (53) tried to keep his team in the hunt but the target was too much in the end to chase.
Skipper Wanindu Hasranga picked two wickets whereas Dhananjaya de Silva, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dasun Shanaka picked one wicket each. Sri Lanka bundled out Bangladesh for 146 runs and won the game by 28 runs.
After winning the game, Sri Lanka won the game, they caught the attention of many with their celebration during the trophy collecting time. They celebrated the win with a timed-out celebration. The incident went viral on the internet.

For reference, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan during the game against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023 appealed for the timed-out dismissal against Angelo Mathews. The veteran all-rounder came out to bat and his helmet’s strap broke, taking extra time to bat.
However, this didn’t go with the Bangladesh skipper as he asked for a timed-out dismissal and the batter was given out.

Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasranga opened up about the series win against, praising the bowling attack. He said that his team will take a lot of confidence going into the World Cup 2024. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:
“I watched the first two games from the dressing room, we played very well in all three games. In the day games I trust my skills and back myself. It was his first game in the series and he bowled really well. Our bowling attack was too good for them. This is our last series before the WC and we can take a lot of confidence from this,” he concluded.
