Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina came up with a staggering reply after he was asked to name a player who could score 20 runs in the last 6 balls. He said that he didn’t need options and went on to pick MS Dhoni.

Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni shared a great camaraderie between them as the duo were the heart and soul of the Indian National Cricket Team and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Not only on the field but they gelled well together off the field as well.

Suresh Raina has often spoken about his relationship with MS Dhoni. The duo were the main reason behind India’s success in white-ball cricket for more than a decade.

During a recent interaction, Suresh Raina was asked: "Your team needs 20 runs in the final over, who would you choose as your batting partner?"

Replying to this, Suresh Raina responded with confidence, "MS Dhoni." The former Indian cricketer then was offered options. However, he didn’t need the suggestions and said: "I don't want options!"

Suresh Raina recently also talked about the future of MS Dhoni in the Indian Premier League.

The former Indian all-rounder said that he wants the keeper batter to play in one more season as he needs to guide Ruturaj Gaikwad for another year so that he can take command of the team completely.

MS Dhoni ahead of the IPL 2024 stepped down as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings and handed over the leadership of the team to the Ruturaj Gaikwad. But the team didn’t have the kind of outing they would’ve wanted in the league.

Although Dhoni kept guiding Ruturaj throughout the season, Chennai Super Kings couldn’t qualify for the playoffs.

They ended the league stage at the 5th spot on the points table. This was the fourth time they failed to qualify for the top four in the points table.

Dhoni didn’t bat properly in the IPL 2024 as he was battling a knee injury during the last IPL season. He came to bat in the last few overs but made a massive impact for the team as he hit massive sixes to entertain the fans.

Dhoni scored 161 runs in 14 matches came at an astonishing strike rate of 220.25. But massive questions remain about the future. There h1asn’t been clarity if the keeper-batter will be playing in the next edition or not. He said that he would be taking the decision in the interest of the team.
