India National Cricket Team T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav's poor form continued in the second T20I of the five-match series against England National Cricket Team at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Saturday, January 25.
Suryakumar Yadav failed again with the bat as he was dismissed by the 29-year-old English bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse in the 6th over of the second innings.
Suryakumar Yadav going through a lean patch
India's Mr 360 has not been in good form with the bat since taking over the leadership of the Indian T20I team from Rohit Sharma.
He was in absolutely sensational form in 2022 and 2023, but there was a big downfall in his performance in 2024 and things have been extremely poor in 2025 as well.
In the T20I series opener against the Three Lions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Suryakumar bagged a duck, and in the second T20I, he was back in the hut after scoring 12 runs off 7 balls, with 3 fours.
On the 4th ball of the 6th over, Brydon Carse bowled a 141.9 kmph delivery to the Indian captain, who tried to run it down to third man but was cramped for room.
Then, the ball hit the middle of the bat and then trudged back onto the stumps and India were in a little spot of bother at 58/3. Overall, in his last 10 T20I innings, he has registered scores of 12(7), 0(3), 1(4), 4(9), 21(17), 75(35), 8(10), 29(14), 8(9), and 26(12).

What Happened in the 1st T20I Between India and England?
India delivered an excellent performance to defeat England by 7 wickets in the 1st T20I at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
England batted first and struggled against the Indian bowling unit. Arshdeep Singh gave India an early breakthrough, dismissing Phil Salt and Ben Duckett. Jos Buttler was the lone warrior for England, scoring a terrific 68 off 44 balls.
However, he didn't receive much support from the other end as Varun Chakravarthy (3/23) ran through the middle order, dismissing Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and the English skipper. Also, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya contributed with two wickets each, restricting England to a below-par total of 132.
In response, India chased the target with ease. Abhishek Sharma emerged as the standout performer, smashing a blistering 79 off 34 balls, which included eight sixes and five fours. Despite losing Sanju Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) early to Jofra Archer, Sharma's aggressive knock ensured India maintained a high good rate and finished the chase in just 12.5 overs.
The mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.
