Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav joked about his form ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He said that he can turn around the things as he has been batting well in nets.

Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their opening encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match is all set to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (23rd March).

Going into the game, Suryakumar Yadav's form will be one of the concerns for Mumbai Indians. The batter, since the last few months, has struggled to get going across the formats, and this has many fans worried. The right-hander is expected to play a crucial role for the team, and if he returns to form, it will be a massive boost for the team.

IPL, the form has been good - Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav also will be captaining Mumbai Indians in their opening game. He will be filling the shoes of Hardik Pandya, who will be serving a ban due to the slow over-rate that he had as a captain last year. Hence, it will be a great opportunity for Suryakumar to lead from the front.

Suryakumar Yadav while talking about his form also revealed that he will be batting at No.4. Speaking to reporters on the eve of the game, he said:

"IPL, the form has been good (laughs). See, the thing is, it's always good to have that impact at the top, and I've seen that guy. He's been working really hard. So for Team India, I thought it will be better if he can bat number 3 and I can take the responsibility at number 4 because, for me, I think batting number doesn't matter," said Suryakumar.

Suryakumar Yadav talked about the batting order of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2025. he said that there would be flexibility throughout the entire season. He also addressed the issue of his form, saying that he is a process-oriented man. He added:

"I try and bat the same way and try and make that impact whenever there is an opportunity, and so does he. So you might see guys being flexible during this season, during stint with the IPL and we are all, everyone is flexible like even I can bat at 3,l I can bat at 5. Tilak can bat at 5.

"So, it's that flexibility we have in our team and with the form, I think, the harder you work, the luckier you get. If it has to come, it will come at any time, but I am actually a process-oriented man. I love to work hard in the nets, and if the runs have to follow, they'll follow quickly some day or the other."

Suryakumar Yadav was also asked about the plans of Mumbai Indians to stop uncapped player MS Dhoni. However, replying to this, he came up with an eye-catching reply, saying that no one has been able to control him. He said:

"Has anyone been able to control him in so many years?! (Laughs)."
