Suryakumar Yadav, on Saturday (June 29), came up with a remarkable juggling catch under pressure to give India a huge breakthrough in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup final 2024 between India and South Africa.

India had their back against the wall thanks to Heinrich Klaaasen's whirlwind fifty. However, Hardik Pandya turned the game on its head by dismissing Klaasen in the 17th over. In the end, the Proteas needed 20 runs from the last two overs.

Arshdeep Singh then delivered a stunning 19th over, conceding only 4 runs. In the final over, South Africa needed 16 runs with David Miller facing Hardik Pandya. Miller was South Africa's last recognised batter and the onus was on him to take his team home. On the other hand, Miller's wicket was crucial for India to seal the game.

And the game was decided on the very first ball thanks to Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant effort at long off. Pandya bowled a low full toss outside off and Miller hit it towards long off. The ball was looking set to cross the boundary rope but Suryakumar Yadav had other ideas.

The India star came out of nowhere to take the catch before showing remarkable composure to throw it in the air as the momentum took him over the boundary rope. He then regained his momentum and returned to the field of play to complete a fine catch.

Miller's dismissal indeed sealed the game for India as they went on to win the contest by 7 runs to win the T20 World Cup after a gap of 17 years. India had last won the T20 World Cup way back in 2007 when MS Dhoni led them to glory in the inaugural edition. India also became the first Asian country and third overall to win the tournament twice.

South Africa finished their innings on 169 for 8 with Klaasen scoring 52 runs off 27 balls. Earlier in the game, India finished their innings on 176 for 7 with Virat Kohli starring with the bat, scoring 76 runs.
