Suryakumar Yadav will be returning to action on Sunday (October 6) when he leads India in the first match of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The match is scheduled to be played at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gwalior.
It will be his first game for Team India since the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July. The India captain will be looking to hit the ground running on his return to international cricket. And ahead of the game, he looked in a jovial and playful mood.
In a video shared by BCCI, the right-handed batsman was seen teasing his teammates during the training session. While his teammates were busy honing their skills in the nets ahead of the series opener, the captain decided to have some fun.
The likes of Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Riyan Parag, and others were busy batting in the nets when Suryakumar Yadav decided to encourage them in his own style. When Sundar hit a big shot, Suryakumar Yadav was quick to remind him of his heroics in the famous 2021 Gabba Test. Sundar had played a crucial 62-run knock in the famous victory for Team India.
In the same video when Jitesh could not connect well with the ball and vented his frustration, the India captain was heard telling him: "thak rahe ho kya? (are you getting tired?)
Later, the star batsman also praised Rinku Singh for his batting. After the southpaw completed his batting in the nets, Suryakumar told him: Brutal power! You have brutal power."

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to win his second T20I series as a captain. He made his debut as India's full-time T20I captain during the series against Sri Lanka in July and guided the team to a 3-0 win. He also finished the series as the highest-run scorer for Team India.
Suryakumar will be hoping to deliver a similar performance both as a captain and a batsman in the upcoming series. The upcoming series will be his first home series as a full-time captain. The momentum is with the home side and it will be looking to make the most of it.
Before the T20Is, India thoroughly outplayed Bangladesh in the two-match Test series. While Bangladesh came to India after a famous Test series win in Pakistan, they were no match for the Rohit Sharma-led side. India just completely outplayed them in both the Tests to clean-sweep the two-match series.
