For the second match in a row in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh T20I series, Abhishek Sharma failed to do well with the bat.

After a stunning campaign in this year's IPL, the southpaw earned his maiden India call-up for the series in Zimbabwe. He hit the ground running in international cricket by smashing a whirlwind century in his second outing. However, Abhishek Sharma failed to make the cut for the three-match T20I series in Sri Lanka as the first-choice players returned to the team.

With the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, who opened the innings in Sri Lanka, rested for the ongoing series, Abhishek Sharma was recalled to the T20I side. However, the youngster has failed to impress with the bat so far.

He has failed to score big in the first two games of the three-match series. In the first T20I, Abhishek Sharma started in his usual aggressive manner and raced away to 16 runs from just 7 balls before being run out.

Abhishek Sharma flops in second T20I:

Abhishek Sharma had the chance to make amends on Wednesday (October 9) when he came out to open the innings with Sanju Samson in the ongoing second T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. However, the youngster failed to get going and was dismissed for just 15 runs.

He started positively once again and hit three fours in quick time but could not last long. Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib ended his stay at the crease in the third over.

On the final ball of the over, the right-arm pacer bowled the India opener. He bowled a short of a length delivery just outside off and Sharma ended up dragging the ball onto the stumps.

Talking about the game, India were on 73/3 in the 9th over at the time of writing this report. Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh were batting in the middle for India. Apart from Sharma, the likes of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav also failed to impress with the bat. While Samson was out for 10, captain Suryakumar could score only 8 runs.
