India captain Suryakumar Yadav was lucky to avoid suffering a serious injury on Saturday (October 12) during the third T20I against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

The right-handed batsman almost copped a nasty blow on his face from a beamer during the game. The incident took place in the 12th over when Suryakumar Yadav was facing Taskin Ahmed. On the very first ball of the over, Taskin nearly injured the India skipper by bowling a nasty beamer at him.

The high full-toss from Taskin was headed towards Suryakumar's face but the right-handed batsman managed to duck in time. As a result, the ball completely evaded him. Wicketkeeper Litton Das could not stop the ball either as it ran away for a four.

Taskin was quick to apologize to Suryakumar. The umpire adjudged the delivery a no-ball and Suryakumar added more salt to Taskin's wounds by hitting the resulting free-hit for a six.

Suryakumar Yadav-led India create history:

Talking about the game, Team India scripted history by posting their highest-ever T20I total. They finished their innings on a mammoth total of 297/6. The Men in Blue also became only the second team after Nepal to score a 280-plus total in the shortest format of the game.

This is also the first time that India scored over 260 runs in a T20I game. Their previous highest total in T20Is was 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017. Sanju Samson starred with the bat for the hosts as he scored his maiden T20I century.

Samson reached his fifty off just 22 balls before completing his century off 40 balls. He was eventually out for 111 runs off 47 balls. Samson hit 11 fours and 8 sixes including five in a row during his knock.

Suryakumar Yadav also led his team from the very front by scoring 75 runs off 35 balls. In-form allrounder Hardik Pandya made an impact with the ball as well, hitting 47 from just 18 balls.

For Bangladesh, not a single bowler managed to maintain an economy rate of less than 11. Rishad Hossain was the costliest bowler for the visitors, conceding 46 runs in two overs. At the time of writing this report, Bangladesh were on 11 for 1 in the second over.
