Team India has started their preparation for the upcoming series against West Indies. All the players have already landed in the Caribbean for the full-fledged tour. The upcoming series against West Indies will be India’s first assignment since the loss in the World Test Championship against Australia last month.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will be desperate to bounce back after the humiliating 209-run loss against Australia. India is scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is against the West Indies. The Test series will get the tour started next week.

It will be a crucial Test series for Team India as it will be their first assignment of the recently started third WTC cycle. And ahead of the series, Team India stars caught up with the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers. The players were training when the former West Indies allrounder visited the Kensington Oval, the stadium where one of the stands is named after him.

India head coach Rahul Dravid made sure to introduce the stars to the legendary allrounder and also thanked him for visiting the ground. Sobers was accompanied by his wife. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and others shook hands with Sobers and his better half.

Here is a clip of the meeting between the India stars and the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers:

Sobers is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders to have played the game. He represented West Indies in 93 Tests between 1954 and 1974, scoring 8032 runs at an average of 57.78. Sobers scored 26 centuries and 30 half-centuries with a best individual score of 365 not out. With the ball, he picked up 235 wickets.  The annual ICC Men’s Cricketer of The Year trophy has been named after him.
