The Indian players were all fired up when they took the field on the second day of the fifth Test in Sydney. It was all expected by the way the first day ended with the verbal altercation between Jasprit Bumrah and Sam Konstas.

As Mohammed Siraj's over came to an end, Virat Kohli started sledging Sam Konstas with Bumrah's name. "Yes Bumrah, there's your man now," said Kohli with Sam Konstas on strike to face Jasprit Bumrah.

Kohli was then heard reminding Bumrah about the plans to bowl to Konstas and that he had the chance to get him out because of his aggressive batting style. The youngster tried to attack the Indian captain but miscued his shots. Bumrah retorted back and claimed that Sam Konstas is playing like a No. 10 batter.

Meanwhile, Sam Konstas arrived with aggressive intent on the day when he was always going to be brutally sledged by the Indian players. Konstas has been getting under the skin of star Indian players ever since his Test debut at MCG.

The youngster even struck two boundaries off Jasprit Bumrah. His first four was over mid-off as he ran down the track and thumped Bumrah for a boundary. Konstas didn't stop here and also reverse-ramped Jasprit Bumrah for another four.

However, his innings was cut short by Mohammed Siraj in a superb over which produced two wickets. Siraj bowled a perfect outswinger which Konstas edged to Yashasvi Jaiswal at gully for a superb low catch. The 19-year-old opener was dismissed for just 23 off 38 balls.

Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas were involved in a heated argument from the last Test in Melbourne. During the first day of the Melbourne Test, Kohli was found in a shoulder collision with Sam Konstas which started a heated altercation between the two of them.

Non-striker Usman Khawaja had to come in between to calm down the situation as the players went their way. Kohli was later fined 20 percent of his match fees for this incident. Konstas had a fantastic debut in MCG as he scored a quickfire 60 off 65 balls to give Australia a flying start.

He took the best bowler of the series Jasprit Bumrah apart and played unusual shots to derail his line and lengths. Konstas' superb counter-attack enabled Australia to lay a strong base for a big first innings score in the match.

Indian fast bowlers shine in Sydney

Meanwhile, Indian bowlers started the day superbly and pushed Australia to the back foot. Jasprit Bumrah picked up Marnus Labuschagne's wicket early in the day while Mohammed Siraj complemented him well with two wickets in a single over.

Steve Smith and Beau Webster steadied the innings before Prasidh Krishna got into the act to pick up Smith's wicket. Webster played well for his maiden half-century but Australia were unable to take the first-innings lead and were shot out for 181.
