Team India batter Tilak Varma humorously made a request to his teammates, Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar, ahead of the second T20I against England in Chennai. Tilak Varma jokingly asked Varun Chakravarthy to arrange breakfast and intended to have dinner at Washington Sundar's place.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led team commenced the five-match T20I series against England on a positive note. India won the first match by seven wickets at Eden Gardens on January 22 and took a 1-0 lead in the series. The second T20I will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on January 25.

Varun, Subeh Subeh Ghar Pe Ek Crispy Dosa Chahiye - Tilak Varma

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently shared a fun video of the cricketers traveling from Kolkata to Chennai on Instagram. In the video, Tilak Varma ordered his teammates Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar to arrange food for him in their hometown.

"Do player hain apne team se, ek Varun ek Washi (Washington Sundar). Unke liye mein yeh bol na chah raha hu ki Varun subeh subeh ghar pe ek crispy dosa chahiye breakfast ke liye aur sham ko Washi ke ghar mein dinner chahiye," Tilka Varma could be heard saying in the video. (We have two players in the team, one is Varun and one is Washi. I want to tell Varun that I need crispy dosa for breakfast and will do the dinner at Washi's place in the evening.)

Varun Chakravarthy made his T20I debut in 2021 but was dropped due to underwhelming performances. He made a successful comeback after becoming the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL. Since returning to the T20I team last year, the 33-year-old has taken 20 wickets in 8 matches.

I'm Excited Because My Parents Will Be Coming - Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy, who recorded bowling figures of 3/23 in the first T20I of the series, is excited about playing in his home city, Chennai. He shared that it would be his first game for India at the venue, where his parents and family would be attending the match.

"We are going to Chennai and it will be my first game for India in Chennai. I'm excited because my parents will be coming and my family will also be coming to see, so very excited," Chakravarthy said in the aforementioned video.

Tilak Varma Cemented His Place in India’s T20I Squad After Scoring Back-to-Back Centuries

Tilak Varma earned a call-up to the Indian T20 team after his impressive performances with the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He debuted against the West Indies in Tarouba in 2023, where he scored 39 runs. The southpaw then added a half-century and an unbeaten 49 runs.

Tilak cemented his place in the T20I squad after scoring back-to-back centuries in an away series against South Africa last year. The 22-year-old has amassed 635 runs in 21 T20 matches at an average of 52.91 and a strike rate of 159.54, including two centuries and two fifties.
